Introduction
Zeolite catalyst DAY-120 is a kind of Dealuminated Ammonium Y-type (DAY) molecular sieve, with a super high silica-to-alumina ratio of typically 120. It also retains the FAU topology and three-dimensional macropores (pore size approximately 0.74 nm), and generally appears as a white powder.
DAY-120 is a deep dealuminated molecular sieve, and is generally regarded as a high silica USY zeolite catalyst. Because the aluminum content in the DAY-120 framework is significantly reduced, it has extremely high hydrothermal stability, thus exhibiting excellent steam resistance, long lifespan, and superior regeneration performance. Although the number of acid centers in DAY-120 is reduced, the quality of the acid centers is higher. Therefore, DAY-120 catalyst is less acidic but more stable, with better selectivity, fewer side reactions, and less coke deposition. Furthermore, during the deep dealumination process, DAY-120 zeolite forms a greater number of secondary mesopores. This facilitates the diffusion of macromolecules and reduces diffusion limitations. The improved diffusion properties of DAY-120 molecular sieve significantly enhance catalytic efficiency.
DAY-120 zeolite is a high-performance FCC catalyst. It boasts advantages such as strong resistance to deactivation, long operating cycles, and high gasoline quality, making it primarily suitable for heavy oil cracking, residue FCC, and high-metal feedstock. It can also be used in hydrocracking, such as middle distillate production, jet fuel, and diesel upgrading. Due to its mild acidity and high selectivity, DAY-120 zeolite catalyst can also be used in fine chemical catalysis, for example aromatics conversion, isomerization, and alkylation reactions.
