Introduction
Zeolite catalyst REY (Rare Earth Y) or REY molecular sieve is a kind of Y-type zeolite obtained by modifying NaY zeolite through ion exchange, replacing some or all of the sodium ions with rare earth metal ions (such as La3+, Ce3+, Nd3+, Pr3+, etc.). REY zeolite also has a FAU structure framework, with a pore diameter of approximately 0.74 nm, and appears as a white powder.
REY molecular sieve inherits the advantages of Y-type molecular sieve, such as a high silica-alumina ratio, a uniform and regular pore structure, and a large surface area. Furthermore, the introduction of rare earth elements strengthens the acid centers, enabling the catalyst with higher initial activity and acidity, which is beneficial for cracking reactions.
REY molecular sieve is mainly used in petroleum catalytic cracking reactions. It can increase the reaction rate and selectivity, reduce energy consumption and costs, and is particularly suitable for improving the cracking conversion rate of crude oil and increasing the yield of gasoline and diesel.
