Introduction
Zeolite catalyst HY (Hydrogen Y) or HY molecular sieve is a kind of protonic Y-type zeolite obtained by modifying NaY zeolite through ammonia ion exchange and calcination dealumination. It also belongs to the FAU structural type of zeolite, and has a pore diameter of approximately 0.74 nm, its appearance is white powder.
HY molecular sieve retains the three-dimensional macroporous structure of Y-type molecular sieve. However, after ion exchange, Na+ is replaced by H+, giving it higher acidity and catalytic activity. Its acidic properties include Brønsted (B) and Lewis (L) acid centers, which exhibit extremely high activity in catalytic reactions.
As a common catalyst carrier and acidic molecular sieve, HY molecular sieve is the main active component of fluid catalytic cracking catalysts and is widely used in petroleum catalytic cracking. It is also used as an adsorbent for VOC adsorption and pyridine adsorption, or applied in the isomerization and de-alkylation reactions in chemical catalysis.
