Introduction
Molecular sieve 3A zeolite powder or zeolite powder 3A, is the potassium form of the type A molecular sieve with a pore size of about 3 angstroms (0.3 nm). It can selectively adsorb small molecules such as water (H2O) and ammonia (NH3), while excluding larger molecules such as ethanol or hydrocarbons.
Zeolite powder 3A appears as a white, fine powder; it is the powder type molecular sieve 3A. And it can be processed into balls, strips, or irregular shapes by mixing with binder and other additives, to form molecular sieves or directly to make activated powders after high temperature calcination.
3A zeolite powder is made by replacing some of the sodium ions in the 4A zeolite powder with potassium ions, which reduces its effective pore size to about 3 angstroms (0.3 nm). And it can effectively block larger molecules such as ethanol, propane, etc.
