Zeolite catalyst DAY-30 is a kind of Dealuminated Ammonium Y-type (DAY) molecular sieve, with a medium silica-to-alumina ratio of typically 30. It also retains the FAU topology and three-dimensional macropores (pore size approximately 0.74 nm), and generally appears as a white powder.

Compared to ordinary HY molecular sieve, the framework of DAY-30 has undergone further dealuminating treatment, resulting in significantly improved thermal stability, while maintaining relatively strong acidity. For thermal stability, DAY-30 zeolite is more resistant to water vapor, can withstand higher temperature regeneration, and is less prone to framework collapse. For acidity, since the silica-to-alumina ratio is not particularly high, DAY-30 zeolite still possesses a large number of Brønsted acid centers and high cracking activity, exhibiting strong ability to crack heavy oil. Therefore, DAY-30 zeolite catalyst is often considered a high-activity type of USY zeolite catalyst.

DAY-30 zeolite is commonly used as an FCC catalyst, due to its high cracking activity, high gasoline yield, and relatively high LPG yield. As an acid support and cracking component, DAY-30 zeolite is often used in conjunction with metals such as nickel and platinum in hydrocracking catalysts. In addition to serving as catalysts, DAY-30 is also an excellent zeolite adsorbent, exhibiting strong adsorption capacity for benzenes, hydrocarbons, alcohols, and aldehydes, and has wide applications in VOC abatement, air purification, and wastewater treatment.
