Introduction
Zeolite molecular sieve 13X is a crystalline aluminosilicate, also known as zeolite 13X. It is the sodium form of type X zeolite, with a pore size of approximately 10 angstroms (1 nm). Molecules with a kinetic diameter smaller than 10 angstroms will be adsorbed by type 13X molecular sieve; otherwise, be excluded.
Zeolite molecular sieve 13X will adsorb water, carbon dioxide, alcohols, and other oxygenates and sulfur compounds. Compared with 3A, 4A, and 5A, type 13X molecular sieve has the largest pore size and the strongest adsorption capacity. It can adsorb a variety of polar and non-polar molecules, especially carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and water vapor. It also exhibits excellent chemical stability and is relatively stable to acids and bases (although strong acids and bases can destroy its structure).
Type 13X molecular sieve can also be made into beads or strips, which are widely used in cryogenic air separation, oxygen concentration, natural gas purification, industrial air drying, liquid drying, and solvent dehydration, etc.
