Introduction
Zeolite catalyst DAY-60 is a kind of Dealuminated Ammonium Y-type (DAY) molecular sieve, with a high silica-to-alumina ratio of typically 60. It also retains the FAU topology and three-dimensional macropores (pore size approximately 0.74 nm), and generally appears as a white powder.
Compared to DAY-30, DAY-60 zeolite has a lower aluminum content, a more stable framework, and achieves a better balance between acidity and hydrothermal stability. DAY-60 zeolite catalyst has a relatively high silica-to-alumina ratio, resulting in fewer acidic centers and moderate acid strength. However, its deeply dealuminated framework is more stable, thus exhibiting stronger hydrothermal resistance and the ability to withstand FCC regeneration conditions (above 700℃).
Furthermore, the macroporous structure of DAY-60 zeolite catalyst is also suitable for large molecule reactions in heavy oil cracking. And its optimized pore structure, partially forming secondary mesopores, which can improve the diffusion efficiency. DAY-60 is essentially a high-silica USY zeolite catalyst that has undergone dealuminating and stabilization treatment.
DAY-60 zeolite is the mainstream FCC catalyst, primarily used in fluid catalytic cracking to improve gasoline yield, light olefin yield, and resistance to metal contamination. Sometimes, it also serves as an acid support in hydrocracking, providing cracking capabilities. In petrochemical deep processing, DAY-60 also has important applications, such as heavy oil conversion and diesel upgrading.
