Introduction
Zeolite catalyst ZSM-11 (Zeolite Socony Mobil-11 or ZSM-11 zeolite powder), is a synthetic zeolite with a crystal type of MEL. ZSM-11 molecular sieve belongs to the tetragonal crystal system, and its pores are mainly composed of ten-membered rings, forming a three-dimensional straight-channel system. The pore size of ZSM-11 is approximately 0.54 nm×0.53 nm.
The three-dimensional channel structure of ZSM-11 zeolite allows reactants and products to enter and exit the sieve from multiple directions, thus exhibiting good molecular diffusion properties, resistance to carbon deposition, shape selectivity, and thermal stability. ZSM-11 molecular sieve also has excellent acid catalytic capability, and the acidity and the number of acid centers can be controlled by adjusting the silica-alumina ratio.
The catalytic value of ZSM-11 zeolite stems from its particular suitability for processing organic and hydrocarbon molecules of moderate size. Its most important application is aromatization, where its mesoporous structure allows for shape selectivity in the formation of aromatic hydrocarbons. ZSM-11 molecular sieve can also be used in olefin isomerization, various acid-catalyzed alkylation, hydrocarbon cracking, and methanol-to-hydrogen processes.
