Introduction
Santa Barbara Amorphous-15 (SBA-15) molecular sieve catalyst, is a highly stable mesoporous silica molecular sieve first developed by researchers at the University of California at Santa Barbara. It has a uniform two-dimensional hexagonal channel structure (p6mm symmetry), with a pore size typically around 5 nm to 15 nm.
Besides its unique pore structure, SBA-15 mesoporous silica molecular sieve also exhibits high specific surface area and pore volume, thick silica walls, and a coexistence feature of micropores and mesopores.
