Introduction
SAPO-18 zeolite catalyst is a typical small-pore aluminosilicate molecular sieve with an AEI topology. It has a three-dimensional microporous system consisting of 8-membered ring pores and a cage-like structure, with a pore size of approximately 0.38–0.44 nm. And SAPO-18 zeolite usually appears as a white powder.
SAPO-18 molecular sieve exhibits tunable acidity. The introduction of Si into its framework creates acidic sites, allowing for further control over acidity, pore structure, and catalytic selectivity by adjusting the Si content. The good thermal stability makes SAPO-18 suitable for high-temperature catalytic processes. And its excellent shape-selective catalytic performance is particularly suitable for limiting the formation of larger molecules.
Due to its regular microporous cage-like structure, moderate acidity, and good shape-selection properties, SAPO-18 zeolite catalyst is mainly used in catalytic reactions such as methanol-to-olefins (MTO) and dimethyl ether-to-olefins (DTO).
